Another source of funds will be the showing of two movies. The first movie date is November 14 at 7:30 in the elementary school gym. Mrs. Linda Mallory will survey the students before that date to determine what movie they would like to see.
The officers took on the responsibility of being the chairpersons for a Fun Fair planned for the spring.
Volunteer parents are needed for the following duties: soup label collecting. calling committee, running off duplicated work for the teachers, babysitting for the SPTA meetings and a person to be in charge of the baseball overhang project. A regular babysitter is needed for each meeting. Anyone interested may call Cindy Andreoni at 987-8750.
Playground chairman Maggie Rodgers reported that 80 percent of the playground is finished, while 50 percent of the upper grade fitness course has been completed. Some adjustments and finishing touches are still needed. Last weekend and this coming weekend (October 18 and 19) were scheduled as playground work weekends. Any able bodies are asked to come and lend a hand. Many types of tools are needed. The meeting concluded with a reminder to parents about the parent teacher conference to be held October 23. Mrs. Mallory is in charge of buying the meat dish for the teacher’s dinner, that night and for arranging for other entrees.
Students, parents and teachers are encouraged to attend the next SPTA meeting on Tuesday, November 4 in the elementary school library.
