Superintendent Robert Estabrook had a captive audience last Thursday night as the Rappahannock Supervisors sat through a twohour presentation on the proposed high school construction project. But there were no statements of support from the supervisors and only a few questions, most of them directed to whether the expansion project could be scaled down.
A plan for adding more space at the high school has been batted around since 1976 when a joint Board of Supervisors/School Board study committee found the facility overcrowded. The latest proposal - with a price tag of around $1.5 million - centers around a combination of new and remodeled footage to provide a new gymnasium that seats 750, larger cafeteria and library, bathrooms for the handicapped and a multi-purpose room for physical education for handicapped students, auditorium with elevated seating for
