Two years ago, the Supervisors authorized the School Board to apply for a Literary Loan for this same project after first directing that brick-and-mortar construction be substituted for the proposed prefab gym. The design and the funding were approved by the State Board of Education which is expected to release the money in December. When that happens, the School Board will have 60 days to put the project out for bid. If that deadline isn’t met, the RCHS improvement project will drop back to the bottom of the Literary Loan list which would mean another two year wait until funding is again available.
