Arthur M. King

Arthur M. King, 93, a past chairman of the Alexandria School Board, died Tuesday, September 30 at the Hospice of Northern Virginia.

An Alexandria resident, Mr. King was a native of that city. He was the son of the late Frank T. and Margaret Rowland King and the husband of the late Ruth M. King. Mr. King was the brother of the late Col. Charles W. King of Ben Venue.

Mr. King had retired from the American Red Cross. He was formerly on the board of directors of Charles King and Son Co., Inc., president of the Old Dominion Boat Club and member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge. He was also a vestryman of Grace Episcopal Church.

Mr. King is survived by a daughter, Betty King d’Arc; a son, Frank M. King; two nieces, Mrs. Thomas L. Eastham of Ben Venue and Mrs. Mac 0. Matthew of Ono Island, Alabama; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 4. Burial was in Mount Comfort Cemetery.
