Harvest dinner
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring a harvest dinner on Saturday, October 18 at the Flint Hill fire hall. The country ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings will begin at 5 p.m. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
ARB to meet
The Architectural Review Board will meet on Thursday, October 16 at 8 p.m. at the courthouse. Interested persons are urged to attend.
Biological farming conference
The Virginia Association of Biological Farmers will sponsor a conference entitled “Bio-Dynamics: Culture and Agriculture” beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18 at the Rappahannock Elementary School near Washington. Featured topics will include “The Social and Economic Aspects of Bio-Dynamic Farming” by Trauger Groh, “Conversion from Conventional or Organic Farming to Bio-Dynamics” by Roderick Shouldice and “Bio-Dynamic Preparations and Experiments” by Hugh Courtney. The conference will also include commercial exhibits and a move, The Vanishing Soil. Area farms will be open for tours on Sunday, October 19.
