Fund-raiser party

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold its Fall Fund-Raiser Cocktail Party Saturday, October 25, 5-8 p.m. at the home of Diana and Lee Bird, Horseshoe Hollow, Fodderstack Rd., Washington. Planning Commission public meeting

On Thursday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the courthouse the Planning Commission for the town of Washington will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposed parking ordinance, sign ordinance, subdivision ordinance. Please plan to attend if you have an opinion as to whether they are needed and if so what they should say.

Talent program at Hopewell

There will be a talent program at Hopewell Baptist Church on Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The program will benefit a missionary from Hopewell. All are invited.

Antique and craft festival

An antique and craft festival sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Saturday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Food will be served.

Humane Society auction

The Rappahannock Humane Society is still seeking donations for their fall auction on October 18 at Points of View Farm. Anyone wishing to donate may call Ann Sakalaucks at 987-8140.

1st Octoberfest scheduled

An Octoberfest will be held near the historic village of Upperville on Sunday, October 19 from 1-5 p.m. The event will be held at the 50 acre estate of the 1763 Inn, located two miles west of Upperville on Rt. 50. Events will include three bands, German and American food and an arts and crafts exhibition. There will also be hay and pony rides antique cars and many other diversions.
