At dawn last Wednesday the snow was only a sprinkling of white, resembling confectioner’s sugar dusted on a cake as a finishing touch. By afternoon, however, it was anything but a piece of cake. The snow flew and the winds blew, clogging roads and cancelling school and other activities in Rappahannock and throughout the northeastern U. S.
Rappahannock was more fortunate than other neighboring counties. Col. Deiter Knuepfer reported about four inches at his home near Massie’s Corner, and Sperryville’s Dennis Wingfield recorded about 4M>
