Mental health professionals deal with this multitude of major human and social issues that in some way touch the lives of every person in the community.
The way in which these issues are handled and the way that each individual is helped affects the quality and “wellness” of the community as a whole. It is our task as members of the community, and as government officials, to take responsibility for ourselves in the area of mental health and community service. Mental health and illness, crisis, and emotional distress may affect anyone; no one is immune.
