Walter Woodward
Walter Meade Woodward, 87, of Front Royal, died Nov. 12 in Western State Hospital, Staunton.
Mr. Woodward was bom Aug. 8, 1900, in Rappahannock County, a son of the late Charlie Dick and Belle Young Woodward. He married the former Gladys Frazier, who predeceased him.
Surviving are two sons, Cleveland Woodward of Front Royal and Abby Woodward of Ranson, W.Va., three daughters, Frances Ramey, Shirley Nicholson and Julia Mahoney, all of Front Royal, a sister Frances Jenkins of Manassas, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Nov. 16 at the Turner Robertshaw Funeral Home by the Rev. Alice Campbell. Burial was in Bennett’s Chapel Cemetery in Warren County.
Palllbearers were Mr. Woodward’s grandsons.
Lester Painter
Lester Myron Painter, 72, of 110 Sycamore St., Culpeper, died Nov. 11 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
