The Game Commission reminded property owners and hunters that the silver blazes may be used along with “Posted” signs, or by themselves. In either case property marked with the blazes will be considered by law enforcement officials as having been posted against trespassing under Virginia law.
Bag limit increased
This year, the Game Commission approved an increase in the bag limit per hunter for deer in Rappahannock County. Three deer will be allowed to be taken this season, with a maximum of one per day. At least one must be an antlerless deer. They may be taken only during the last 12 days of the season, when either sex may be taken.
Warden Bankston also reminded hunters that firearms bear season does not begin until next Monday, Nov. 23.
