Even with the additional $46,000 for bleachers and auditorium seats, the School Board will still be short for the high school expansion project. The list of “little ticket" items includes benches for locker rooms, tables and additional serving line for the cafeteria/kitchen and furniture for the guidance office reception area. “We’ll still have $7,700 to find in next year’s budget or in funds left over in this year’s budget,” Dr. Gangel said.
Or possibly the county’s service clubs and organizations may make a donation to cover the remaining shortfall, chairman Beverly Massie added. (Last year, when it appeared the deficit might jeopardize the long delayed RCHS expansion, three families contributed a total of $2,700, which the board has tentatively earmarked for the auditorium seating.)
