Jeffrey Scott Gatewood, 22, of Washington, ►pleaded guilty Nov. 6 to second-degree murder ►in Madison County Circuit Court. Gatewood was I to be tried this month on a first-degree murder ;charge in the Good Friday shooting of James ;(Big Red) Carter in Brightwood, on Rt. 29 north 'of the Town of Madison.
