A goal of raising $2,000 has doubled, with pledges nearing $4,000 from the Rappahannock Heart Association’s first-ever Turkey Walk. The six-mile walk took place last Saturday in Oldv Hollow.
Approximately 30 Rappahannock residents participated in the Turkey Walk. Ages of the * walkers ranged from elementary school to senior citizens. v
For weeks before the event, participants gathered pledges from friends, family and coworkers, who could pledge on a per-mile-walked basis or give a flat donation. Nearly $2,000 already had been collected by the day of the walk.
