Rappahannock County Elementary School is gearing up for its annual magazine campaign. The students will attempt to make this the most successful year of all because 40 percent of the total sales will go to equipping buses which will need two-way radios. Five buses have been equipped with these radios through the efforts of the PTA and the elementary school this year. Bus drivers, parents and students now know the safety benefits of having two-way communication.
Martha Kid well, RCES secretary and chairman of the drive, announced that the kick-off will be an assembly Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. John Jones, QSP representative, will speak to fourth through seventh graders about the whos, whats, and whys of selling magazines. Students will see many of the prizes that they may earn by selling magazines. The student who has sold the most subscriptions when the drive ends Feb. 23 will have a choice of several gifts.
