meets Feb. 3
The Foothills Travel Association will hold its general membership meeting Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper. Board members of the five-county association will hold a preliminary meeting at 9:30 a. m.
First organized in 1986 to promote travel and tourism in the general area of Planning District 9, the Foothills Travel Association has members from Fauquier, Madison, Orange, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties.
Travel and tourism are Virginia’s second largest industry, generating more than $5.4 billion in trade in , 1985 and growing faster than any other state in the nation. More than $34 million in travel-related business was generated in the five-county region in the same year with little promotional effort.
