community
services

The Rappahannock Lions Club has been very busy the last few weeks helping various organizations with their efforts to assist the needy and elderly during the holiday season.
Among the projects completed were:
• A cash contribution to the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center to provide food baskets to Rappahannock seniors.
• Provide labor and materials to assist the Rappahannock Loan Closet in the cleaning and painting of the new location for loan supply storage. Among those who helped were Dick Markham, J. R. Goolsby, Sid Mank and Dorothy Mank. If you are in need of hospital supplies such as beds, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, etc., please call Mrs. Thomas V. Williams at 675-3765 for additional information.
• A cash contribution, labor and vehicles to assist the welfare department in transportation of food for needy families at Christmas. Among those who helped were George Sharp, J. R. Goolsby and Dick Markham. Special thanks to anyone we may have left out.
