Kermit Wallace, serving
with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., has been promoted to Chief Electrician Mate on the repair ship the USS Jason. He and his wife Hester have recently visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wallace of Woodville.
The Rappahannock Jaycees announce plans for the annual beauty pageant which will be held again this year in April. Jim Willis, who has been appointed chairman of the event, says details of the pageant will be released soon. Young ladies from the ages of 4 to 19 should be keeping this in mind. A school scholarship is awarded as grand priz# in the teen group.

Robert L. (Jock) Brown has
announced his resignation as treasurer of Rappahannock County, effective Feb. 28. An appointment will be made by the local Circuit Court judge for a replacement to complete his unexpired term.
Nelson Atkins Jr. of Flint Hill was the winner in the big game contest sponsored annually by Rappahannock Game and Fish Club. He bagged a 163pound, 12-point buck and for that receives the club trophy from last year's winner, Doug Calhoun of Front Royal.
