Self-health
for women
A four-part series on women’s health will be offered Wednesdays from Feb. 17 through March 9 at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington.
The course provides in-depth exploration and information concerning issues of women’s health. Emphasis will be on the cycles of well-being and the uniqueness of common imbalances such as PMS, endometriosis and urinary tract infections. The instructors, Kathleen Maier and Sherry Willis, focus on herbal and other traditional therapies.
The classes are as follows: Session one: well-woman and understanding our cycles; Session two: Gynecology and female sexuality (self-breast exam included); Session three: The childbearing years and fertility awareness; and Session four: Menopause and “Honoring the Passage."
Ms. Maier is a herbalist, body therapist and certified physician's assistant.
Ms. Willis is a midwife and herbalist who has attended home births for the past 10 years.
The classes meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fee for the course is $40 per person.
