Country Gentlemen April 29

The legendary bluegrass band The Country Gentlemen will appear at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Faith Mountain, The Village Cafe, Picture This in Warrenton and Royal Oak Bookstore in Front Royal. Sponsored by RAAC, the concert is expected to attract a sell-out crowd and reservations in advance are encouraged.

Beef referendum May 10

Beef referendum voting will be conducted in the Rappahannock County Extension Office on Gay Street, Washington, May 10 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Producers and importers unable to vote in person may request an absentee ballot by calling the Extension office at 6753619. They will be available until close of business April 29 from the Beef Referendum State Extension Coordinator at Blacksburg. Absentee ballots must be received in the county Extension office by close of business on May 3, 1988. All cattle producers who owned or acquired cattle and importers of cattle, beef or beef products during the period of October 1, 1986, through March 31, 1988, are eligible to vote. This also includes 4-H, FFA, and other youth who owned cattle during the designated time period.
