at the awards ceremony, recognizing her contribution over the race’s 10 years.
Mr. Morehouse added that he was “really pleased to work with her, and with the terrific group of volunteers which assembled to take care of the myriad small details in the weeks before the event. It was a terrific group, the volunteers, the sponsors, the racers.”
“I was glad,” Mr. Morehouse said, “to see the community rally around the race and make it happen” when a plea went out during the winter for sponsors.
At that point it was unclear whether the race would be run, but volunteers stepped forward to pick up the reins and the 10th running of the Fodderstack Classic made the third weekend in April, as always, a Saturday to remember.
That was particularly true for the runners, who left the Courthouse with the memory of the course’s hills deeply engraved in their minds.
Asked if there were any memorable moments at the finish line, one of the volunteers manning the scoresheets quipped, “They were all panting too hard to say anything — memorable or not.”
