A covered dish dinner will be given at the Sperryville fire hall Sunday, April 24, at 6 p.m. by the Sperryville, Flint Hill and Willis Chapel Churches to honor their pastor, the Rev. Merlin Shorb. Rev. Shorb will graduate May 9 from the Wesley Theological Seminary at Washington, D.C., with a master of divinity degree. The graduation exercise will be held at the Metropolitan Memorial Methodist Church in Washington.
The Rev. Merlin Shorb was guest speaker for revival services at the Amissville United Methodist Church this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Welch were guests Sunday evening of Mrs. Roland Welch at Mountain View.
