INVITATION TO BID Sealed BIDS for the construction of the Rappahannock County Sanitary Landfill in Rappahannock County, Virginia will be received at the Office of the Rappahannock County Building & Zoning Administrative Offices, P.O. Box 222, Washington, Virginia 22747, until 1 00 p.m. local prevailing time on Friday, May 13,1988. BIDS received after this time will not be accepted BIDS will be publicly opened and publicly read aloud. Winning bidder will enter into written construction contract with the County of Rappahannock, Virginia. The project consists of excavating, placing, grading, and compacting approximately 50,000 cubic yards of unclassified fill, placement of approximately 63,000 square feet of 60 mil HDPE liner and 7000 cubic yards of liner cushion, construction of approximately 1800 linear feet of leachate collection piping, approximately 1000 linear feet of subdrains, construction of an erosion/sedimentation control pond, and a leachate holding pond with liner, approximately 2600 linear feet of diversion ditch, approximately 1150 linear feet of gravel access road, and other miscellaneous work To qualify, all BIDS shall be submitted in duplicate using BID forms furnished by Joyce Engineering, Inc., a copy of which is bound in the project manual; incomplete or segregated BIDS will not be accepted. Work under this contract shall be substantially completed with 60 days of the date fixed by the Notice to Proceed. One-half of the deposit will be refunded to bona-fide bidders upon the return of the BID Documents in good condition within ten (10) days after the BID opening. No refunds will be issued to non-bidders. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a m on Thursday, May 5. 1988, at the Office of the Building, Zoning and Administrative Offices to review the scope of work and clarify any aspect of the work which may be in question Bidders must contact the Administrative Assistant to the Board of Supervisors for access to the project site. All BIDS must be accompanied by a certified check or BID BOND in the amount of 5% of the total BID made payable to the County of Rappahannock Virginia, in accordance with Section 11-57.
