“Welcome the return of spring this year by joining fellow Rappahannock residents in the county’s annual Spring Beautification Day,” says Nina Stamer, the county’s litter clean-up coordinator. The effort is again being sponsored by RALLY, the Rappahannock Anti-Litter League and You, through a grant provided by the Virginia Division of Litter Control.
The clean-up, innaugurated quite successfully last year, is scheduled for this Saturday, April 23, with a rain date set for next Saturday, April 30.
The organizers request that volunteers plan to gather at the Rappahannock County Park on Rt. 211 just outside Washington at 10 a.m. to receive trash bags, safety vests and instructions on areas targeted for clean-up.
