NUGGETS OF TRUTH
Jesus said in Matthew 16:26, "For what is a man profited if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul." Here Jesus is saying, that even if a man could gain the whole world, that it would not be worth losing his soul over. Many of you reading this article are doing exactly that, you are gaining ttie things of this world at the expense of your own soul. There is nothing wrong with having things, as long as that isn't where your trust, or complete attention or focus is. But sad to say that is where people have their attention most of tlte time, on the things that perish.
Most people are making plans and preparations for retirement, but more importantly they should be making plans and preparations for where they will spend eternity. It would be awful to gain ttie things of this world, and to lose your soul as the price to have to pay to gain the world and then die and leave all |
of that behind, and tlien have to | spend eternity in hell. I challenge 9 all of you who read this article to g turn your attention away from the 9 trap of gaining the world, and put j your focus on the things of the kingdom of God. Make Jesus first in your life, not things. Seek ye first his kingdom, and all these things shall be added unto you. Put your trust in the living God, not in the things of this world. Gain the kingdom of God, and receive his son Jesus into your heart by faith.
