But we’re negotiating to get a roll-off container for old refrigerators, ice boxes, and other items at one, possibly two, of our dumpsters, and in the meantime, we’ve got to pull together to get this mess under control,” Mr. McCarthy said, urging residents to dispose of their trash in a responsible manner.
And for those who refuse to cooperate, illegal dumping should be reported by witnesses to the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department, he added. Complaints should be telephoned to the dispatch center at 675-3331 or 987-8787, along with a description of the vehicle and individual responsible, and a license number if possible.
Mr. McCarthy added that it is also illegal to dispose of brush at the dumpster sites. Anyone dumping clippings of any type should also be reported.
