In addition, he reported plans for an in-service informational program on legal issues for both administrators and School Board members. “It will cover AIDS policy, drug policy, search and seizure, and other issues in educational law.”

He also noted that next month the School Board will receive an explanation of the new family life curriculum mandated by the General Assembly in its 1988 session.

At meetings subsequent to the Superintendent’s presentation, the School Board will seek “community input” on this new program, Chairman Beverly Massie added.
