Last year, I wrote a “Letter to the Editor” addressing the issue of herbicide use in the county. I was hoping to get any kind of response, but got none.
As months pass, the greenery along the roadsides will be dead once again and the air will be rank as you drive by. Increased residency will only promote more herbicide use to keep that “clean” look. The compromise of the use of these toxins is being ignored until it is too late, and our groundwater is contaminated. We are living in a time when this issue must be addressed or we will no longer be able to drink what we all consider as some of the best water available.
We as individuals feel we can’t change much in the way of worldly issues, but everyone can change their personal way of promoting clean living. It must become a personal issue, one of the small things each person can do to affect the whole.
