Three win poster awards
Threg RCHS ninth-graders brought home awards from the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District poster contest. Honorable mention awards went to Daniel Vanderkolk, Tara Darner and Billielee Ballard for their creative efforts on tHe theme, "£lean Water: Virginia's Choice is rCJear." According to RCHS faculty member Theresa McGrady, there were 10 entries from Rappahannock County. The contest was open to students from Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison and Orange counties.
j Recreation Authority will meet
The Rappahannock Recreation Authority will hold an organizational meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the courthouse. Plans will be drawn up for next year's Fodderstack 10K Road Race, which is the primary fund-raising event for the Authority. The Rec Authority, whose members are appointed by the county's board of supervisors, is charged with administration and oversight of the Rappahannock County Park, on Route 211 fust outside Washington. Any residents interested in volunteering to assist the Fodderstack organizers are invited to attend the meeting.
