Paper bag apple pie 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust 6 cups tart cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced (about two pounds) 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 3 tablespoons butter or margarine

Prepare pie crust according to recipe or package directions. In a large bowl toss apples with sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon juice and seasonings until well coated. Spoon into pie shell. In small bowl combine 1/2 cup flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives until mixture is crumbly. * Sprinkle evenly over apples. Place pie in large, brown heavy-duty paper bag. Fold open end over twice. Seal with large paper clips. Preheat oven, 400 degrees F. Bake 45-50 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
