Veterans’ Day: For several years celebrated on a Monday to give us an additional long weekend, the day, by popular demand, reverted to the original date of the Armistice bringing World War I to a close. Honor our veterans by pausing at 11 a.m. for one minute of silence on the 11th of the 11th month.
Thanksgiving: Give thanks for all blessings received on the 24th, a time for family gatherings.
House and Grounds: Secure house and buildings against winter's coming blasts. Cover evergreens with adequate shelters to protect from possible snow damage. Keep a good supply of firewood and kindling under cover.
