Game Warden Jim Bankston announced that a state-approved Hunter Education Course will be offered this Saturday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sperryville Rescue Squad building. There is no charge for the 10-hour course.

Warden Bankston noted that big game season begins Nov. 21, and reminded county residents that firsttime hunters, all those 16 years of age or younger and anyone who has lost last year’s license must present proof of completion of a state-approved hunter safety course before they will be issued a hunting license.

For more information, or to preregister for the class, call Warden Bankston (937-5192). In order to gain certification, students must attend the entire 10-hour course, he added.
