It’ hard to believe, but the Amissville Firemen’s Carnival begins in one week, Wednesday, June 28 through Saturday, July 1. Make plans to attend.

A fireworks display will be on Wednesday night; parade at 7 p.m. on Thursday night; crow ning of honorary fire chief (queen), prince, and princess on Friday night; and drawings for $1000, $500, $50, and $25 prizes on Saturday night. Tickets cost $1 and are being sold by the contestants for honorary fire chief and members of the Department. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The Ruritan’s 28th annual beef barbeque will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the firehouse. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under for a complete dinner. Mark your calendar now' and plan to attend this important fundraiser while enjoying a great meal.
Revival continues at Massanova Pentecostal Church at 7:30 p.m. through June 27. Rev. Benny Sutherland of Dayton, Ohio is the guest speaker. (Homecoming will not be on June 25 as previously reported, but in September. I regret the error.) United Methodist Church will celebrate its 160th anniversary on August 13. Services begin at 10 a.m.
