Mr. Gladkov wall be visiting Rappahannock County this week, and will attend the show’s opening Sunday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. He will deliver an informal talk about 4:30. He said he is looking forward to meeting the people who have corresponded with him about the photographs he exhibited last year.
His photographic images portray lives which are literally continents away from the peaceful Rappahannock landscapes. His studies of the weathered, time-worn faces of peasants and youthful Moscow punkers reveal the human side of the Soviet Union, which is so often seen only through the lens of a news camera.
