Betsy Kay Jewell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl F. Jewell, of Castleton and James John Carroll, son pf Mr. and Mrs. Donald Carroll, of Sperryville were married on Saturday, April 22, 1989, at 2 o'clock at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Scrabble with the Rev. John McKay officiating.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a floor-length, white satin gown with an overlay of white lace, back ruffles cascading into a short-train, and a large satin bow accent. Her white, lace-covered, curled hat was accented with seed pearls and had an attached veil. She carried a cascading bouquet of champagne roses, stephanotis and ivy.
Kristi Schichl of Flemington, New Jersey served as maid of honor. She wore a teal satin, ballgown-style dress accented with a large back bow and carried a bouquet of white roses and ivy.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Deal, cousin of the bride of Boston, Virginia, and Bonnie Jewell, sister of the bride, of Castleton. Their dresses were identical to that of the maid of honor and they each carried a single long-stemmed white rose with ivy.
Susan Jewyll, sister of the bride, of Castleton. was junior bridesmaid and wore a white satin gown of similar style as those of the other attendants. She also carried a single white rose with ivy.
