A social get-together and a bake sale will be held at the home of Charlie Lewis, Sperryville, on Saturday, July 7. There will also be a softball game between the Hopewell Pastors Aid Club and the Shiloh Pastors Aid Club, from Woodville. Events will begin at 1:00 p.m. and everyone of all ages is invited. The afternoon will be sponsored by the Hopewell Pastors Aid Club.

Washington, who owns Ice House Fabrics on Main Street in Washington, has lived in Rappahannock County since 1977. Her fabric store opened May 9 in a new location, next to the Rappahannock News office. The store is full of “fabrics-nthings” such as patterns, needles, threads and other notions for the home sewer. Ice House Fabrics is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. » Rappahannock residents will have an opportunity to learn about the history of the Arab horse - an animal that has not . changed in thousands of years - at Avon Hall in Washington July 4. Several Arabs, each with rider in full native costume, will be featured during the event, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
