We often made our own meals (hobo dinners and homemade biscuits) and were known to break into song without provocation. I think we all learned a lot, to say the least, and I can’t think of anyone who did not have a great time. It is an experience I will not soon forget —hopefully not ever.

Seeing the moths firsthand

On the weekend of July 7-9 the teen club from Rappahannock, joined by Mrs. Moffett and Mr. Williams, went camping. On this trip we were able to learn more about the four stages that the gypsy moth undergoes before it completes its life cycle. We were also able to see firsthand the damage that the gypsy moth has done to the forest.

Another part of the trip was spent learning about water, specifically mountain streams: We w-ent into the stream at two different locations and took samples of the life forms in the w’ater. The samples proved that the life forms were suffering and lacking in numbers due to pollution.
