Luke says an informal gettogether has precluded the immediate need for a formal joint session with the School Board over implementation of a kindergarten system, but that he still thinks the School Board should have been more emphatic in expressing its reservations about the system. Luke and Supervi'-*>r J.R. Latham met with School Board members and some school administrators shortly after the July meeting of the Supervisors, at which Luke and others had expressed dismay over a letter sent to the State School Board. The letter said the Rappahannpck School Board had “approved” implementation of a fullday kindergarten system by September 1 of 1976. What upset the Supervisors was their belief , that the School Board did not “approve” the program, but had merely “accepted” it. ■ The Rappahannock Girls Softball team upset the topranking Front Royal team in a hard-hitting, close game last Friday. The final score favored Rappahannock 28-27 over the Warren Quality Team. Two homers were belted by the locals — one by Theresa Clanagan in the second inning and the other by Dorothy Foster in the third. ' Hitting triples were Carolyn Dodson and Patricia Pendleton.
