Back to school Sept. 5
Summer vacation has just about ended for the county's children, who return to school next Tuesday, Sept. 5. On the first day of classes children will go home early, with an early release at 2 p.m. The schools will hold Fee Day, when students may pick up textbooks, locker assignments and take care of other matters, on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 1:30-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Girls basketball season opens
The Lady Panthers basketball season has begun, with the team playing its first home game this past Tuesday evening against Warren County. They will travel to Page County on Thursday, then return for a home match against the Central Falcons | next Tuesday, Sept. 5.
