Sheriff Woodward warned motorists to watch for smaller children entering and leaving school buses. “Those little kids are quite often hard to see.”
He said often children seeing the bus will run to the stopping place and though most stops are on the same side of the road as the child’s home, drivers should anticipate the child running into the road. “Just remember the kids are there,” he said.
After several months of not seeing buses on the road or smaller children standing in early morning shadows, the sheriff warns drivers to be cautious. “Remember there are kids on the road and remember you may be meeting buses in places you are not used to meeting anything,” he said.
