ormer Attorney General J. Marshall Coleman, Wilder’s Republican opponent, is among the GOP’s requesting a special prosecuter to investigate Wilder’s alleged ethical abuses.
“The attorney general now must proceed promptly to appoint a Commonwealth’s Attorney of unimpeachable integrity to conduct a thorough investigation and aggressive prosecution of Mr. Wilder for ethical abuse, as required by statute,” said Coleman.
“Coleman is trying to make political hay out of a financial oversite,” said Laura Dillard, Wilder spokesperson. “Let’s move on and talk about the issues.”
“This is a very serious question about a man who is running for the highest office in the state,” argued Bruce Hildebrand, spokesman for the Colertian campaign.
