Those motorists who insist on violating Virginia’s laws will be arrested or issued summons, if they’re not killed or injured first.”
Last year, 18 persons died in mo. tor vehicle crashes during the Labor Day weekend. Troopers patrolled 136,819 miles of highways during the four-day period and assisted 2,799 stranded motorists. Troopers also issued 5,300 summons/arrests, including 3,106 for speeding, 567 reckless driving, 133 driving drunk, and 1,494 for other hazardous violations.
