The weekend will include two evening demonstration/performances featuring selections drawn from the Hindu epic, “Ramayana.” A day long seminar and workshop on Saturday, Sept. 16 will give participants an opportunity to experience how drumming, chanting, stylized gesture, costuming and make-up work together to bring a kutiyattam story to life. Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to watch the elaborate process of make-up and costuming that precedes the evening performance.

Registration for the 10 a.m.-3 p.m. seminar/workshop on Saturday, Sept. 16 is $35 in advance (including one evening performance).
