To the editor:
I subscribed to the Rapphhav nock News in May of this year so I could catch up on what is happening around the county. Just so you don't think 1 am a newcomer planning to move into the county, I was born and raised in Rappahannock. My Tapp ancestors immigrated to Virginia in 1643 and moved to a large farm near Amissville in the mid 1700’s. I have documented each Tapp generation from 1643 to my children.
I have been reading with much interest the controversy surrounding the TV cable installation in Rappahannock County. I find it appalling that in this day and age we still have people trying to force their beliefs on others. I believe one of the reasons we fought the Revolution was to get away from the British rulers telling us what we could and could not believe in.
