William J. Carroll, district director of the Washington, D.C., District Office, Immigration and Naturalization Service, said today that while interest in the Replenishment Agricultural Worker (RAW) program is running high, approximately 11 percent of the registration cards are being returned as unprocessable.
Mr. Carroll said that applicants should be careful to make entries legible, answer all questions, sign the card, and make sure the correct fee of $10 is enclosed.
Mr. Carroll also noted that registrants should remember to keep the removable stub with their registration number on it since status can not be determined without the registration number.
Registration for the RAW program began Sept. 1 and will continue through Nov. 30. Undocumented aliens who worked in agricultural employment at least 20 days between May 1, 1985, and Nov. 30, 1988, are eligible to register. The RAW applicants will be randomly selected from a pool of registrants.
