Turkey walk Nov. 11
The Rappahannock Chapter of the American Heart Association will conduct its annual “Turkey Walk” at the Intersections of Rt. 600 and Rt. 612 in Old Hollow on Saturday, Nov. 11. Oldway Craft festival
Oldway Craft Village of Sperryville, Virginia still has a few spaces available for the Oldway Demonstrating Craft Festival on October 21 and 22. Demonstrations are encouraged but not required; interested artists should call the Oldway office at (703) 987-8474.

GED anniversary celebration
On Monday, Oct. 9 the GED class will celebrate its first anniversary. Previous students and anyone interested in obtaining a high school equivalency diploma is invited. Several students and recent graduates will share their test experiences. Plan to meet at the Rappahannock Library at 7 p.m. for a social time and to register for free GED classes. Self-help for arthritis
On Oct. 23 an arthritis self-help course will be offered by Milk Branch of the Arthritis Foundation at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. This course is open to anyone with arthritis and will provide information about arthritis, how best to use arthritis medication, how to design an appropriate exercise program, dealing with emotional and physical problems caused by arthritis and working more closely with your physician. Sessions will run from 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. in the conference room of the hospital. Classes will run for six weeks, once a week beginning Monday, Oct. 23. Pre-registration is necessary and enrollment is limited. For information and applications for the Arthritis Self-Help Course, call (703) 347-2465. Enrollment fee is $10 (includes course book) and family members are encouraged to attend as guests, so that familial support will be strong.
