Literally a “one Man Band”.when he calls the square at a country dance, Slim Harrison has been called a “One Man Festival.”
Hauling a whole wagon load of instruments, Slim accompanies his singing with fiddle & fiddlesticks, banjo (both fretted & fretless), autoharp, dulcimer, jaws harp, spoons, mouthbow, limberjack, and various jug band instruments. It has been said that when Slim presides at a square dance, no one can escape dancing.
Slim will be playing and calling dances at RAAC’s Country Square Dance Fundraiser. The Square Dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 8 p.m. at the fire hall in Washington. All tickets are $10 at the door. A pie auction will be held at the dance and all proceeds will go to benefit RAAC for the support of the arts in Rappahannock County.
“Come one, Come all to this footstomping, spirit raising event!” said Kay Robertson, RAAC’s director.
