chapters meet
The 33rd annual meeting of District VI of the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution was held Sept. 15 at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville with the Hostess Chapters being the Jack Jouett and Point of Forks Chapters. Mrs. Edgar F. Puryear Jr., District Director, from the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, presided over the meeting.
Distinguised guests, including the Virginia State Regent, Mrs. H.T.N. Graves; Vice President General Mrs. Charles R. Haugh; Honorary Vice President General Mrs. Frederick T. Morse and State Committee Chairmen, were presented by Mrs. Lee W. Swift Jr., District Vice Director.
The roll call of Chapters in the district was taken and 100 percent were represented, with a total of 210 persons present.
Monies were pledged for the State Regent’s project of providing financial assistance for the erection of a marble plaque in th State Capitol in Richmond honoring the Virginia Signers of the Constitution of, the United States of America. Also, plfedges were received for the Preservation of Records, this year going to Madison County to preserve the record book for the years 1793-1804. . All State Chairmen present gave two-minute reports and all Chapter Regents gave a brief summary of Chapter activities.
The next annual meeting will be at the Red Carpet Inn in Waynesboro in September 1990.
