The Rappahannock Women’s
Club invites all voters to attend the county’s first political forum on Wednesday, October 10, in order to learn who they will be voting for in the November election and why. The forum will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Flint Hill fire hall. All candidates running for local office have been invited to speak for three minutes and participate in an open discussion.
Lee Baines, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Ashton Baines of Washington, won a bronze medal for third place overall in the Shenrapawa Cub Scout Olympics held last Saturday at Camp Rock Enon in Gore. In his age group, Lee finished first in sit-ups, 1st in broad jump and second in pushups to win the medal.

Gregory Monahan of Black
Water Creek near Boston was recommended October 1 to replace George Muth on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Muth left the post September 26 after 14 years with the BZA. Nelson Lane recommended Monahan during the Board of Supervisors’ regular monthly meeting. The recommendation was approved unanimously by the board. Monahan is employed by Wakefield School.
