Sperryville’s Apple Harvest Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The festival will feature catalog closeouts at The Faith Mountain Company and Country Manor. Also at Country Manor there will be an old-fashion apple butter boiling and white oak basket demonstrations throughout the weekend by Warren Henry of Luray.

Pony rides and games for children will be held at That Sperryville Emporium.

Journey’s End Farm in Amissville will offer Victorian Carriage Rides throughout the village. The rides are hosted by owners, Nancy and Harvey Lagasse.

Crafters will be set-up at the Sperryville Antique Market, in addition to a bake sale sponsored by the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers Club. The proceeds will benefit their annual scholarship.

Instant door prizes will be awarded at Country Elegance.

Fine antiques may be found at Country Home Antiques, visitors are also invited to visit the Jenkins’ second shop located in the village.

Sperryville, the antique capitol of Virginia is also home for fine antiques from Elmer’s Antiques, Water Street Antiques and Sperryville Deal.

Southern Draw-1 Artworks, a fine arts gallery on Main Street in the historic village of Sperryville is a dealer for prestigious Mill Pond Press Inc. Features available include wildlife, civil wrar art, and miniature oils by local artist Deborah Cass Hoffman. Ms. Hoffman will be available both days from noon to 5 p.m. to show her original miniature oils and demonstrate techniques of producing miniatures. Ms. Hoffman will be on site in the Outback Garden and Deck to discuss art and her paintings.

The Pontchartrain Causeway New Orleans Jazz Band will be in live performance on Sunday at Southern Draw! from 1 to 5 p.m. This is an ensemble of genuine southern music — descendants of “Jubal” himself (progenitor of musicians, Genesis 4:21). Enjoy food and drink on their Outback Garden and Deck on the Thornton River both days. Board games and sketch pads are available.
