Another suggestion was that at the time of a footer inspection the owner present the inspector with a certificate saying the building meets the setback requirements.
“What’s the penalty?” Mr. McCarthy asked.
“He doesn’t approve the footings,” Mr. Bird said.
A final suggestion was that “in the event of a violation found to have been not in good faith some meaningful reasonable penalties” be allowed. They agreed to let the supervisors grapple with what those penalties should be.
